2026.04.20
Hello blog! :D
Today marks two weeks of blogging! Let's keep it going to 10,000! 1,000,000! 1201,831991,898! TO THE MOON!
OH BOILERMAKER PETE, MY SWEET BOILERMAKER PETE
Over this past week, I’ve actually missed Purdue a little. Well, I mean my Japanese 101 class at Purdue. I truly appreciated Morita sensei (my previous Japanese teacher) so much, she seemed like she actually cared like a lot about our education. I loved going to her office hours and chatting with her. But more than that, I loved the kinship of our class and how fun it was because everyone was willing to provide to the energy.
In class now, it’s a bunch of older asian people which is a complete difference between young Midwestern engineers. Ugh… Now I have FOMO.
IMPRESSING THE LOCALS
I’ve been impressing the locals with my impressive Japanese. they say “日本語はめっちゃ上手ですね!” (Your Japanese is literally the best I’ve ever heard, even better than mine.)
Then I say “えー, ありがとうございます!” (yea, i know.)
Then they say “店内でご利用ですか?” (cash or card?)
Then I say “カードでおねがいします。” (card please.)
Then they say “ばか外人。” (you are so cool.)
MAYA AND THE MYSTERIES OF MUJI pt.2
Today, I went into the Muji after I was tricked into buying $10 chocolate. I CAN’T RESIST CUTE AND OLD ASIAN WOMEN! They are my bane. I always fall for their SCAMS.
Today’s mystery entailed the kitchen section. I was looking for an electric kettle so I can finally get a taste of Muji’s selection of dried foods, but I couldn’t find one. What I did find was an adorable little hot stove. I think it was to heat your beverages because my aunt has one and she uses it to heat up her coffee. Interesting…. I gotta get to the bottom of this.
Okay, I’m actually really tired right now. I bought three of the same bento today at the kitchen orgin which contains two fried fish stick things, another fried thing (maybe chicken?), and a bed of rice. I didn’t realize how many calories were in them, so I’m feeling quite sluggish and heavy right now. I should have known better, BUT THEY’RE ONLY 350円 ($2.20) EACH! OK, じゃね!
(EDIT: In celebration of figuring out the image situation [thank you Tita Michelle for your support], I will show a cartoon quite relatable for the current times in my life:
