my class is SO CUTE!

2026.04.22

Hello, blog! I know I said today I have something special to show, but that will have to be pushed until tomorrow or Friday because it’s taking a lot longer than I thought :/.

my class is so cute
Today during class, instead of saying something was incorrect, our sensei (Kawato sensei) kept on saying “oh shi—” Of course, she was saying something in Japanese, but it still sounded like “oh sh!$*” For context, Kawato sensei is the cutest little Japanese lady you can find. She wears huge glasses and is probably like 4’5”.

Here is an example of her utilizing this phrase:

川と先生:オワイとボードでツをか言ってください。ボランティアがいますか?(please write the katakana “tsu.” are there any volunteers?)

エミさん:はい。(yes.)

川と先生:どうぞ!(here! [hands her the marker])

エミさん:(writes katakana incorrectly) 大丈夫ですか?(is this fine?)

川と先生:(looks at board) oh shiii—

Then, we were learning how the different nationalities in my class say “goodbye.” It was so cute when Nhu-san kept on repeating what they were saying out loud like she was gonna study it later even though it was the most complicated mouth movement ever. For example, the Russian woman in my class was asked what goodbye is in Russian, and she said something completey incomprehesible to my English ears. No one attempted it except for Nhu-san. She was squinting her eyes and rubbed her chin like a scholar then said “hm. see-vahn-ia" in the most Australian accent. It was like a first grader pretending to take notes in a biomedical engineering lecture. I couldn’t stop laughing.

no thanks, kenji san
After class, Kenji-san asked me if he could “set me up with his step son.”

I first said “Ummm… I think I’m okay.” But then, curiosity got the best of me, so I said “unless… how old is he?”

“24.” 24 is a huge age gap at 19. Thanks, but no thanks Kenji-san. Kenji-san is so funny because today he was asked to write ソ up on the whiteboard and did it completely wrong, but he proceeded to draw a circle + smiley face + an exclamation mark around his terrible represention like it was perfect.

He said “Yeah, that’s good. It’s long here then a little short there.”

Then Kawato sensei said “Oh shiiiiiii-”

Okay, that’s all from me tonight folks! I know my posts have gotten a lot shorter as of recently, but it’s only because big things, HUGE THINGS are in the works at the moment. Look out for VLOG pt. 2! (spoiler is in photos below)

OH! Also, tomorrow is the first field trip my school is hosting! We are going to a place where samurai are buried, so there’s lots of temples and shrines. I have to get up bright and early tomorrow, soじゃね!
