授業の終わり

Dear blog. I joined a discord yesterday of another “maya” who makes hyperpop. It was so crazy because two second before I joined, ANOTHER maya joined. It was the mayacolypse. This is really good opportunity to talk about how much I love my name. I love my name so much. “maya alba.” What a pretty sound. It’s also adorable.

のずむさん told me he was learning more black slang and he wanted me to teach him something. Disappointingly, I had to tell him that I’m not really culturally black so I wouldn’t know that much. Because of this, I’m now more aware of how little I am in touch with my roots, and that’s okay too. He told me that later when I start having kids is when I’ll think about it.

I will say that it was strange when he was telling me all the black slang he’s learned and saying “you guys use ‘booty’ a lot, right?” It really felt like I was being grouped into something that I have no association to, like putting a dumpling in ravioli. Sure, we are fundamentally the same and made of similar ingredients, but I don’t really know the ravioli culture and what sauces they enjoy being doused in. I am a dumpling so I only know the way of the dumpling. Maybe one day I will learn more about ravioli. This is what it’s like being Maya Alba BTW. I’m gonna make this the name of my autobiography: dumpling among ravioli.

授業、終わった
Today was the final day of class. I was happy departing the class, but sad when saying goodbye to Hanni-san and Jessica-san. They were always so kind to me and I really loved them for that. We played three games of “The Game,” and I am SUPER proud of myself being able to successfully explain this game with using entirely Japanese. That is an incredible feat, being able to say you can explain things in Japanese! Whoo! After we were done, a HUGE FRIGGIN’ BUG (the size of a medjool date) flew into my face. It was so gross. I screamed so loud with a tonality between a school girl and a business man. After we departed, I was gonna go watch the Michael movie but I was too tired. I’m gonna watch it tomorrow. I don’t really want to do anything tomorrow other than sleep and watch Youtubers play games all day. I forgot how much I love watching gamers until I watched LDShadowLady yesterday. Today, I am watching the protagonist of Silent Hill F’s actress play Silent Hill f. It’s really interesting, and it’s really good Japanese practice (since it’s techinically a Japanese game).

Anyway, goodnight blog! I might sleep for about 10 hours today! I am so grateful for my friends that I’ve made, the incredible Japanese I can speak now, and all the tasty foods I’ve eaten so far. Now, I only have ten days left. 寂しい。。。じゃね！
